Phoenix’s Top 5 Spots To Get Tasty (and Cheap) Tacos

Tuesdays are my favorite days due to one word: Tacos.

One of the best parts about living in the Southwest is the delicious diversity of food options offered. I don’t think you can go more than a few miles without running into a place that sells tacos.

If you find yourself in the greater Phoenix area, I would check out these tasty taco places. Believe me when I say, you will not be disappointed.

5) Taco Chiwas

The owners use their signature family recipes to deliver authentic tacos that will keep you coming back for more. Their tortillas are fresh, hand pressed and absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a flavorful option, try the Deshebrada Roja. It is a gordita filled with shredded beef, beans, potatoes and a delicious red chili sauce.

Location: 1923 E McDowell Rd Phoenix, AZ 85006

4) Ta’Cabron – The Real Mexican Grill

If you are looking for some fast and tasty tacos. This is it. Ta’Cabron offers a variety of delicious tacos that are also reasonably priced. For instance, you can get most tacos for $1.85 and a few for $2.10.

My favorite tacos are the carne asada and the taco hazz which features green chili and cheese.

3) Blanco Tacos + Tequila

Blanco’s nachos con queso blanco is one of the best I have ever had. Truly, their chips are light and crispy with the perfect amount of salt. The standard option does not come with any meat, yet it is still a party in your mouth. Trust me, the avocado and crema fresca blended together will keep you reaching for the plate.

The slow cooked BBQ pork taco is our favorite item on the list. One bite and you will surely see why it is an award winning & incredibly tasty taco.

If you are looking to really get the party started, they’ve got you covered. Visit Blanco during Happy Hour from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm for $6 margaritas and $5 beers.

Location : 4 locations throughout the valley. The patio at the Biltmore location is great for people watching.

2) Barrio’s Café

Barrio’s Cafe, a legendary Phoenix location, must be included on any taco list. Barrio Cafe serves up more than just tacos. I would highly recommend treating yourself if you get a chance.

They have over 200 tequilas for you to sample and a mouthwatering, award winning menu. If you get a chance to stop in, try some of the iconic menu items such as the Chiles en Nogada or the Churro Rellenos.

Better yet, they have Happy Hour from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm every Tuesday through Saturday!

Location: 2814 N 16th Street Phoenix, AZ 85006

1) Joyride

I personally never thought that seafood belongs in a taco. Especially in a state with no fresh body of water nearby. However, Joyride’s crispy fish taco changed all of that. You have to try Joyride if you are in Phoenix and craving a tasty taco. These are the best crispy fish taco I have ever had (If you have had a better one, I am all ears).

Joyride has a specialty sauce that they put on their tacos called ‘white magic’. It is SO good. Furthermore, They have specials everyday from 2:00 pm -5 :00 pm and a bangin’ Taco Tuesday Special.

On Tuesdays from 2:00 pm to close you can stuff yourself with as many delicious tacos as you like for the low low price of $2.00 with a $5 margarita to go along with it.
