2021 has certainly flown by and I can hardly believe that it is already the end of the year.
Each month I track my progress on my yearly goals I had set out for myself. In the past I have chosen the following categories like: Financial, Physical, Educational and Other.
Let’s dive in.
FINANCIAL GOALS:
1. MAX OUT MY 401K
2021 was my first year maxing out my 401K! Yay me. For 2022 the limit actually will be increasing by 1K. I have tooooooo many things to pay for next year so I do not anticipate maxing out my 401K again. However, I am open to money the universe sends my way.
2. PAY OFF MY CAR LOAN
I did not pay off my car loan this year! There is hope for me yet as my scheduled payoff is Feb 2023. I believe I can finish paying off this car by the end of 2022.
3. CONTINUE DONATING
Still doing well with this goal. I donate about 2-3% of my after-tax income.
Here are the primary orgs I support.
I use Givewell to donate to the following:
EDUCATIONAL GOALS
4. SQL CERTIFICATION
Lol. I do not know when I will get this done.
5. COMPLETE MY DUOLINGO COURSE
There are 9 units in total for DuoLingo and I am still on Unit 3. I did pay for another year of the premium version, so there is hope for me yet. I plan to roll this goal over to 2022.
PHYSICAL GOALS
6. GET MY 5K TIME DOWN UNDER 25 MINUTES
It is the end of the year and my 5K time is NO WHERE near where it needs to be. I am returning to Orange Theory at the start of the year so perhaps I can actually cross off this goal. We shall see.
7. COMPLETE BRIGHT ANGEL TRAIL
Originally, I had planned to hike the Bright Angel Trail in October 2021, but I ended up skipping it.
I am instead going to plan to do this hike sometime in April 2022 before my surgery.
OTHER GOALS
8. BE CONSISTENT WITH YOUTUBE
The last video I posted on my YouTube channel was this collab video about my weekly spend. YouTube was a great outlet but incredibly time-intensive so I won’t be returning to it anytime soon.
9. CREATE 250 ITEMS ACROSS MY SHOPS
I did not create 250 items for my shop. I was super focused on this at the start of the year but as the months went by I just ended up loosing interest. My plan is to actually close down all but one shop going forward. I have zero desire to put energy towards creating new designs or juggling several side hustles.
10. BE CONSISTENT WITH MY BLOG
So far, so good.
My favorite blog posts I have posted so far this year are below:
- Every Dollar I Have Spent So Far In 2021
- Side Hustle Income For Q3 – I Am Over It
- My First $100K – Mama I Made It
