It has officially been two years since I started documenting my debt payoff journey! Each month I track my progress towards becoming debt free and share my thoughts about the journey.
Let’s dive in!
CURRENT DEBT TOTALS
STUDENT LOANS = ZERO
CAR LOAN = $5,371.14
Total Debt As Of December 22, 2021: $5,371.14
THOUGHTS ON CURRENT DEBT TOTALS
When I first started documenting my debt free journey, I had $31,286.97 to pay. This total included a car loan on a Honda Civic ($13,957.01) and my outstanding student loans from grad school ($17,329.96).
My total loan balance now is slightly over $5K. This means that within the last two years I have decreased my loan balance by $25,915.83.
I am OVER paying Honda each month. Over it. However, the interest rate on my car is low (1.9%), so it is a better use of my money to just pay the minimum balance until my loan term ends.
It does feel great to know that I am almost done!
