May 2022 Debt Payoff Progress

I am planning on paying off the remainder of my car loan by the end of June. I first started my debt journey in December 2019 with a total debt balance of $31,286.97. I still owed ($13,957.01) on my Honda Civic as well as ($17,329.96) from grad school loans. Luckily for me, I had been paying towards both my loans before my “official start” or else my balance would have been a lot bigger. I had originally taken out a loan of $23K for my car and $25K for school.

CURRENT DEBT TOTALS

STUDENT LOANS = ZERO
CAR LOAN = $3,304.65

Total Debt As Of May 31, 2022: $3,304.65

THOUGHTS ON CURRENT DEBT TOTALS

I think I am doing pretty good. I am really looking forward to having this debt behind me so I can focus on other things. Right now stocks are down, badly. I would love to be able to throw more money into the stock market. Honestly, with my new job, I can. So going forward, that will be my primary focus as well as building a solid emergency fund. It was always my goal to have a year worth of living expenses saved up and I am still short of that goal.

However, by the end of the year, I am determined to have at least 75% of that amount saved away.
