The $40K Cash Flow– Part 3

To get a full background on this journey, please see part 1.

In short, I need to cash flow nearly $40,000 of expenses in addition to paying off my living expenses and my outstanding debt.

I have four main categories of things I am paying for this year.

2022 SET IN STONE EXPENSES

Expense 1 – $8,000

I have paid off about $6,000 of this and have $2,000 left to pay.

I still regret this purchase.

Expense 2 – $22,300

I have $12,300 left to pay on this. It’s on an 18 month 0% APR credit card for now.

POTENTIALLY VARIABLE EXPENSES

Expense 3 – $3,860

In total, I ended up spending $4,206.35 and I am still mad.

Expense 4 – $5,000

So far, I have spent $35.74 in this category.

Thoughts Thus Far

So far this year, I have spent $18,827.89. This does not include any of the spending mentioned above. Trended out, my spending is above my ideal FIRE number. This makes me feel like I need to reign it in. It’s only been about 4 months into the year as I write this. If the next 8 months of my living expenses are like this, I will probably end up spending about $56,000-$60,000 this year. While that is not the most ridiculous number, it’s also more than I would like.
