April 2022 Debt Payoff Progress

Omg! This is finally going to be paid off by the end of June 2022! I first started my debt journey in December 2019. At the time my total debt was $31,286.97. This included the remaining balances on a car loan for my Honda Civic ($13,957.01) and my outstanding student loans from grad school ($17,329.96). Luckily for me, I had been paying towards both my loans before my “official start” or else my balance would have been a lot bigger.

CURRENT DEBT TOTALS

STUDENT LOANS = ZERO
CAR LOAN = $3,784.28

Total Debt As Of April 30, 2022: $3,784.28

THOUGHTS ON CURRENT DEBT TOTALS

It’s almost over! This feels like it took so long! If all goes to plan, it will be 2 years and 6 months. I was thinking that I could pay this all off within 12 months. However, as the saying goes, life happens.

I am excited that this will no longer be a line item in my budget. The goal going forward is to never buy a brand new car again and drive this car until I can’t any longer.

I am starting a new job (#blackintech) shortly and I am looking forward to budgeting my new income. It makes me feel so excited that everything is coming together. I already know I will be crushing my financial goals for 2022 and that makes me feel elated.
