I first started documenting my debt payoff journey a little over two years ago! Writing that out loud in my current headspace sounds discouraging lol. Truth be told I wanted a “sexy” debt payoff story. I wanted to be able to say that I paid off $30K in 12 months like a lot of other headlines I see.
But the reality of my story is not that. I am still paying off my debt and honestly about to pay off even more this year.
Let’s dive in!
CURRENT DEBT TOTALS
STUDENT LOANS = ZERO
CAR LOAN = $4,972.08
Total Debt As Of January 31, 2022: $4,972.08
THOUGHTS ON CURRENT DEBT TOTALS
When I first started documenting my debt free journey, I had $31,286.97 to pay. This total included a car loan on a Honda Civic ($13,957.01) and my outstanding student loans from grad school ($17,329.96).
I have since paid off my student loans and now I am primarily working on my car loan as well as cash flowing $40K of expenses.
