The $40K Cash Flow– Part 4

To get a full background on this journey, please see part 1.

In short, I need to cash flow nearly $40,000 of expenses in addition to paying off my living expenses and my outstanding debt.

I have four main categories of things I am paying for this year.

2022 SET IN STONE EXPENSES

Expense 1 – $8,000

I have paid off all of this.

I still regret this purchase.

Expense 2 – $22,300

I have $11,200 left to pay on this. Not bad all things considered.

POTENTIALLY VARIABLE EXPENSES

Expense 3 – $3,860

In total, I ended up spending $4,206.35 and I am still mad.

Expense 4 – $5,000

So far, I have spent $1,873.25 in this category. I still have a few more things to pay for, but overall it looks like this category will not be over budget.

Thoughts Thus Far

Financially, this year has been…interesting. I am spending way above my ideal FIRE number. This makes me feel like I need to reign it in.

When it is all said and done, I am sure my total spend in after tax money for the year will come to slightly above $80,000. Considering that over half of these expenses this year was optional, I would say I have a lot of room for improvement.
